History of Jean Baril
The father of Marie Catherine Baril, Jean Baril probably came from Saintonge, France since in 1659, it is the departure from La Rochelle, France of the Ship" Saint-Andrew " and the French-speaking institute of Genealogy and History, La Rochelle Card-index identity IFGH N, M37 Jean BARREL born between l644 and 1649 in Saintonge (Charente-Maritime). The marriage takes place the following day in the parish church of Sainte-Famille, ėle of Orleans. This second union will last nearly twenty years and seven other kids will be born.
Third marriage. March 1, 1703, Jean buries his second wife and, following 28 July, he makes draw up a new inventory of its goods. The majority of his children still remain with him; he must thus find a new mother to them. This time he will not have to seek apart from the parish. Catherine Dessureau, born in 1675 and who has more than one quarter century less than Jean, is ready to take up the challenge. The marriage contract is signed in front of the notary Daniel Normandin on April 19, 1704 and the ceremony with the church proceeds in Batiscan three days later. Catherine raises the children of Elisabeth Gagnon. Last act of the Trotain notary, April 20, 1719, the Trotain notary writes the will of Jean Baril, but the ancestor will live almost five more years. It is on February 9, 1724 that one will bury his body with Batiscan. Jean had intensely lived at least three quarter centuries.
