Streamer Fly |
The following is a step-by-step photgraphic sequence of the tying of the Mickey Finn Streamer fly. |
Materials for Original Pattern |
Step #1 The Hook securely in vise and thread base layed down |
Step #2 Tie in Ribbing material I tied in the oval and the flat tinsel from the eye to the back, hoping for a nice smooth body.... |
Step #3 Wrap forward the Flat Tinsel Overlap the wraps to ensure no gaps are present for a solid silver body. Burnishing will create a very smooth body. |
Step #4 Wrap forward the oval tinsel rib and tie down near eye. | |
Step #5 Tie in the Red Bucktail portion of the wing. |
Step #6 Tie in the Yellow Bucktail portion of the wing, whip finish and apply head cement. Your Fly is complete! |

Final Thoughts: This is a very simple and fast pattern to tie. I could have spent more time on the body though. Once again, macro photography really shows the mistakes. The body should have been much smoother. Tight Lines Everyone. Dave |
