One of our most favorite things to do as a family is camp, or as our friends now call it, "RVing".  I was brought up in a family that loved to camp.   That is the way our family spent our vacations. Thank goodness Bob developed the same love for it that I have.  We have seen some wonderful places over the years, but I think my most favorite place is the campground we built, along with the help of some wonderful friends, on Bob's parents farm in Lyons.  It is bordered by the Santiam River on one side, and Johnston Creek on the other.  We named the creek this because Bob's father built the creek several years ago to keep the rock quarry dry.  His father always wanted a camping place for family and friends to be able to gather and have fun.  After the state parks changed their reservation system (1996) and we had to wait in line for two hours to get into a park we had reservations for, we decided to build our own.  We started to build Johnston Creek Campground in 1997, every year we try to do some kind of improvement.
